Stephanie D'heygere wants to accessorize your accessories. The Belgian born graduate of Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts cut her teeth at Maison Margiela, Y/Project and Dior before founding her eponymous label in 2018. The brands aesthetic stems from D'heygere’s questioning of everyday conventions: Could a necklace hold a cigarette? What about a jewellery box that is also the jewellery? Earrings that double as bottle-openers could be useful, no? From the answers emerges a playful surrealism as the brand reinvents everyday accessories as decorative pieces with unexpected functions. This conceptual and irreverent approach produces an accessories range that is unmistakable in its individuality. This season D'heygere sparks the imagination with multi-stud initial earrings, sculptural logo hoops and a baseball cap with LED lights embedded in its brim.
