From a Moncler Genius-clad Will Smith army to motorcycles morphing into Alexander Wang clutch bags, sci-fi worlds inside Rimowa suitcases and rubber ducks bobbing around in ball gags to breathing life into Hajime Sorayama’s hyperreal collaboration with Dior, in Sucuk und Bratwurst’s possibility-pushing, imagination-igniting world, anything is possible. As the Mainz-raised, Berlin-based collective collaborates with Umbro and LN-CC is the exclusive UK retail partner, we’re invited on a playful extra-terrestrial journey of crop circles and alien heads; the truth is out there.
Bound by a long-standing friendship after meeting at kindergarten, the collective encapsulates the power of collaboration. Since its inception more than a decade ago, Lukas Olgac, Denis Olgac, Alessandro Belliero, and David Goenner have pooled their talents as Sucuk und Bratwurst, before recently adding Josefine Kidon-Selzer to its ever-expanding creative studio. Continually playing off one another’s largely self-taught strengths, Sucuk und Bratwurst push their own creative boundaries time with reality-blurring work that challenges our senses. Inspired by their shared background in graffiti and early teamwork in designing party flyers, the collective works across a range of mediums, maintaining the connection between physical and digital methods to build their creative playground. “We do not want to commit ourselves to one medium; we want to do and try out as much as possible and whatever we enjoy,” the collective told METAL in a recent feature. Their pursuit of joy has led them to a collaboration with Umbro.
Powered by the collective’s dedication to dystopian futurism and the Wilmslow-born, globally-worn sportswear brand’s fusion of heritage with trend, the 4-piece capsule thrives on the combination of energetic fabrics and bold details, such as the iconic alien head and crop circle-inspired spine graphic that Sucuk und Bratwurst are known for. The collaboration consists of athleisure wear such as the Umbro crewneck T-shirts with alien head print, long-sleeve with contrasting seams, track pants with patch side pockets and the Zenomorph windbreaker jacket as one of the highlight pieces of the capsule. Throughout, the functionality of Umbro is combined with the innovative design of Sucuk und Bratwurst as a tribute to a building sense of freedom and non-conformity in today's world.
